New Federal Trade Commission rules were introduced in May 2025 which requires hotels to disclose all mandatory fees upfront in their advertised prices, including resort fees.
For the customer, this means hotels can no longer advertise a lower room rate and then add the additional resort fee at checkout. This provides more transparency when comparing hotel options.
